Green Afro Honey is a Brown Sugar Promotions LLC company. We are based out of California in the Bay Area and work in collaboration with grassroots organization SisterHood, Inc to provide resources for women. Green Afro Honey's mission is to promote "going green" as an alternative to mainstream consumerism which tends to misrepresent women of color in the media and what is acceptable as commercial and/or marketable beauty. In addition, it is our goal to provide a balance of postive images that represent african american women through social media to combat negative images that thrive on stereotypes especially in school and workplace environments or as oversexualized objects or simply a specific body part that becomes glamourized yet not respected. As african american women who prefer to use natural and organic beauty products, Green Afro Honey also serves as a marketing platform to showcase those brands which focus on eco-friendly beauty habits.
